Frühjahrsdeko mit neuen Farben

Letzte Woche habe ich habe ich mein Farbkarton neu sortiert und mir dabei auch einen neuen Farbfächer gewerkelt. Da der Farbkarton schon mal auf dem Tisch lag, habe ich noch fröhlich weiter gebastelt. Entstanden sind dann ganz viele Blumen mit denen ich mir einen neuen Türkranz gemacht habe.

Last week I re-sorted my cardstock with the new colours and also updated my swatch book. Since I had the cardstock laid out all over my desk I kept on crafting with it. The result were a lot of flowers, which then ended on a new spring wreath.

Zugegeben im ersten Moment war ich ein wenig geschockt, dass so viele Farben getauscht werden. Darunter auch einige meiner absoluten Lieblingsfarben. Petrol und Ozeanblau. Jetzt, nachdem ich sie live gesehen und auch mit ihnen gebastelt habe, finde ich unsere neue Farbpalette super. Sie ist viel frischer und farbenfroher und ich habe auch schon etliche neue Lieblinge .
Damit die Blüten so richtig schön zur Geltung kommen, habe ich den Kranz ganz schlicht gehalten. Aus meiner Stoffsammlung habe ich mir einen schönen neutralen Stoff herausgesucht, ihn in Streifen geschnitten und um einen Styroporkranz gewickelt. Befestigt habe ich übrigens alles mit kleinen Stecknadeln. So lässt sich der Kranz je nach Laune und Jahreszeit ganz einfach umgestalten. Die Blüte an sich ist mit Glue Dots geklebt. Anschließend kam die Nadel durch die Mitte und dann der Blütenstempel obenauf. Auch wieder mit einem Glue Dot.

I must admit, that at first I was a little shocked that so many colours would be replaced. Including some of my absolute favourite ones. Island Indigo and Marina Mist. Now that I have seen and played with them, I actually love our new colour palette. It’s much more lush and vibrant and fresher and yes, I have quite a few new favourites .
You’ll see most of the new colours on my new wreath. I wanted to keep it simple to make the blooms stand out and shine :). I choose a neutral fabric from my stash, cut it into stripes and wrapped it around a polystyrene wreath. I attached everything with small pins. This way, I can easily redesign the wreath whenever I want to. The flower itself is glued together with Glue Dots. After glueing the petals together I put a pin through the middle and then attached the pistil on top with a Glue Dot.
